Cuvee Gajdov Red 2021 – A Medal Winning Expression

Nestled in the historic Veles Wine District within the heart of the Vardar River Valley, Old School Winery has built its reputation on crafting wines that respect tradition while embracing modern precision. With deep roots in the region’s rich terroir and a philosophy centered on authenticity, the winery has become a rising name in Macedonia’s premium wine scene. 

Cuvee Gajdov Red 2021 is a dominant Cabernet Sauvignon blend (50%), followed by Vranec (30%) and Merlot (20%). The grapes come from three distinct terroirs in two wine districts, Veles and Tikveš, vinified separately and carefully blended across vintages for depth and harmony.

Appearance: Deep ruby color with a youthful purple reflection.

Aroma: Intense and layered, with the character of blueberry juice, ripe black cherries, and blue plum, lifted by a touch of eucalyptus and sweet spice.

Palate: Dry and powerful, yet balanced. Refreshing juicy acidity and mid+ velvety tannins are wrapped in pleasant chest-warming alcohol and full body. Flavors of red cherry, black currant, and ripe red plum unfold with a savory mid-finish.

Style: A smartly oaked wine, powerful yet elegantly woven, showcasing intertwined varietal characteristics with precision. It invites you to try it from the first sip. With only 1,600 bottles produced, this multi-vintage cuvée is both rare and refined. Enjoyable now, it also promises excellent bottle aging potential.
