Spring Begins With GrandVin

​With the arrival of spring, the wine scene in Skopje traditionally reaches its first major moment of the year. On March 28, the Skopje Marriott Hotel will once again host GrandVin 2026 — an event that has already established itself as the symbolic opening of the new wine season.

GrandVin, or “Big Wine”, is more than a classic wine salon. It is the moment when the wine public first encounters the new vintages, new blends and new labels that will shape the wine calendar in the months ahead. In an atmosphere that brings together professionals and wine lovers alike, GrandVin creates a space for the first tastings, conversations and impressions of wines that will soon find their place on restaurant lists and in private cellars.

In that sense, GrandVin functions as a kind of prologue to the wine year, a place where the pulse of the new season can already be felt and where the wine scene takes its first step into the year ahead.

This year, the salon also gains an additional regional dimension. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste a selection of the best Vranec wines awarded at the international competition

These wines originate from diverse terroirs across the Balkan Wine Peninsula and, through their stylistic diversity, reveal the full spectrum of this indigenous variety, from powerful, sun-driven expressions of the warmer valleys to more refined and elegant interpretations from higher vineyard sites. Gathered in one place, they offer a rare snapshot of contemporary Vranec styles and its growing role as a recognizable wine symbol of the region.

The salon will be open to visitors from 14:00 to 21:00, giving guests ample time to discover the new wines, speak with producers and gain direct insight into the directions in which the regional wine scene is evolving.
