​After New York and Singapore, Decanter crowned this year's series of Fine Wine Encounter events in London.

The event took place in the wonderful atmosphere of the Landmark Hotel, London, whose history dates back to 1899. Decanter' FWE brought together top winemakers, industry experts, and passionate connoisseurs, who had the unique opportunity to taste some of the world's best wines. 
The event was generally divided into several parts.
The Grand Tasting, where visitors had the opportunity to taste over 1,000 wines from 125 renowned wineries worldwide, throughout the day, including around sixty highly rated wines from the latest Decanter World Wine Awards.  For those who wanted to dive deeper into the wine ocean, the organizer very carefully selected about twenty wineries in the Decanter Cellar Collection Room, which presented the short verticals of their gems, and the latest novelties.

Three masterclasses were also held as part of the event, namely Rare Champagne, Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, and Penfolds, whose tickets sold out at the speed of light, immediately after their announcement. 

Along with the world's leading wine brands, Croatia was the only representative from our wider region.
As the debutant at DFWA 2024, the Association Vinistra attracted a lot of attention from visitors. They exhibited awarded wines from sixteen Istrian wineries, thus presenting some indigenous Istrian varieties such as Malvasia Istriana, Teran, etc.

​This event is also very useful for WSET students, because it is an excellent opportunity to connect theory with really well-defined wine styles, regions, and sometimes vintages. Nothing is less important for wine merchants, who can get to know new wines and spot new trends in the world of wine.
